Why Can’t I Sell? (Common Issues & Fixes)
If a sell transaction fails, it is often due to slippage settings, token restrictions, or liquidity issues. Identifying the cause can help resolve the problem and ensure smooth trading.
Slippage is Too Low
If a sell order is rejected, the slippage setting may not be high enough to accommodate price fluctuations. This is common in highly volatile markets.
Solution:
Increase the slippage setting in the trade panel.
If the token is experiencing rapid price changes, set slippage to a higher value (up to 100%) to improve execution.
Insufficient Liquidity
If a token has low or no liquidity, there may not be enough available funds in the liquidity pool to process the sell order.
Solution:
Check the token’s liquidity pool on a blockchain explorer.
If liquidity is too low, consider selling in smaller amounts.
Token is a Honeypot or Has Trading Restrictions
Some tokens are designed to prevent selling. These may include anti-sell mechanics, high taxes, or restrictions set by the developer.
Solution:
Verify the token contract to check for selling restrictions, such as freeze capabilities.
If your wallet is confirmed to be frozen, it may not be possible to sell.
Liquidity Has Been Removed (Rug Pull)
If the token had liquidity but it is suddenly gone, the developer may have removed the pool, making the token unsellable.
Solution:
Check a blockchain explorer to see if liquidity has been pulled.
If liquidity has been removed, the token is likely a scam and cannot be sold.
Transaction is Stuck in Pending
If a sell order does not go through and remains pending, it may be due to network congestion or a low gas fee.
Solution:
Check the transaction status on a blockchain explorer.
Increase gas for faster execution (Coming Soon).
Wallet Selection Issue
If a token balance does not appear in the trade panel, it may be stored in a different wallet than the one currently selected.
Solution:
Open the wallet management section and confirm that the correct wallet is active.
